The century-old vineyard of La Mata: some 75 ha within the Natural Park of the La Mata and Torrevieja lagoons, of Moscatel de Alejandría and Merseguera, which survived phylloxera. La Mata wine—dry, sweet and vermouth—is made by small family bodegas and has been protected under the DOP Alicante since 2010. The district holds a Grape Harvest Festival.
