Planes, in El Comtat, is a village with a castle above the Serpis, a 13th-century settlement charter and cherry trees. Its winemaking tradition has left barely any documentary trace, although local gastronomy still prizes the local wine and one of its streets still bears the name Carrer del Vi, Wine Street. There, in modest premises, a micro-winery was born, intended at first for the owners' own consumption, which eventually became a natural wine project with dry-farmed vineyards at some 600 metres between Planes and Benimarfull. It is called Cup de la Muntanya: “cup” is the Valencian word for the vat where grapes were trodden and fermented. There is no ancient legend to tell; what is alive is the winery.
